Jump-starting your leadership in 2007 starts with big things and little things. In fact, it is the little things that are the big things! Here is one essential course of action for turning your situation around. Start with noticing what is going on with the people around you:
Pay attention – in case you haven’t noticed, for the most part, people are not having a “happy happy, joy joy” life. A little noticing, then acting on that noticing in a natural way (it will come to you what to do) will go a long way.
Greet EVERYONE you run into – and I mean everyone. How many leaders in the Church world do you know who actually like people? Few that I have met. Rather they like golf, they like other pastors, they like computers and reading.
Learn to like the things that God likes – God likes above all else - PEOPLE!
Cut to the chase…
if you are a leader and can’t get this “liking people” thing down it may be time to turn in your spurs and start selling Ford trucks. I hear there is big money to be made there. Heck, you could become the chaplain for the Ford dealer!
