Steve Jobs makes it clear that he understands a deep human truth – all people of all generations at the deepest level of their hearts want to make a difference with their lives. Guess what … your church is meant to make an everlasting “dent” as well. God’s intent is that the effect of your ministry will last long after you and your leadership team have returned to dust
Big Questions…
“Who is our audience?” The “Seeker” movement (no “diss” intended – love all of those guys.) call their audience the “unchurched.” I personally have never felt any sort of call to that model.
I and a couple of leader-writer friends have created a new genre that we call “Outward Focused Churches” – a term I coined almost 20 years ago (we even trademarked the term!). As such, the approximately 1,500 churches that have connected with this model see our audience as both “not-yet believers” (the goal is to challenge attendees, never to dumb down the weekend message in any way) as well as already believers.
Your assignment for today: Ask God what specific target groups he has called you to reach.

Never underestimate the power of strategic preaching over a several month time frame to usher in change with your people.
I learned to speak as I went along. I was thrown in the deep end, had to swim before I drowned, but one thing I did right: I've never done a single message without it being a part of a strategic piece of where I was seeing our people going.
Could you say a bit more about this. Thanks, I really apprecate all of your books, sites and the great help I have received. blessings, Mike Wilder
