If you have been playing along with the home game of JumpStart church, then you are beginning to compile quite a bit of information. It is probably stored in a notebook, or a computer file, or on a digital voice recorder, if so, then excellent.

The information should be stored somewhere other than your brain! You are analyzing, you are hearing from God, and you are coming to conclusions. If as a result of yesterday’s exercise you believe that your ministry assignment is over, then you have come to a fork in the road in our process. Will you have the integrity to take the left hand road which leads to your next assignment? Or will you continue on in this ministry role even though you have a strong sense your time is over? There may be a number of outside forces at play in continuing on, among them, finances, marital issues, or lack of a new assignment.

However, if you are going, it is best to start to walk away before you have to run!

Journaling is an important key to the daily disciplined life of a leader. Many of you have probably done it for years. More on this later. Your assignment for today, however is: Take a clean sheet of paper, or an open computer file, and summarize in two pages what you are beginning to learn about your situation. What are the needs of your community? What are the unique expressions of your church? Why does our church need to exist? What is the Holy Spirit whispering to you?
