Confession Time:
Due to various influences in my life I am not a 100% naturally forward person.

Still today when I take a personality inventory I usually score somewhere in the middle between an Introvert and an Extrovert. My wife Janie is about finished with a Masters degree in the psychology of personality testing. She calls me a “Learned Extrovert.” In her mind, we can change certain aspects of our personalities in order to meet the challenges our lives / jobs / goals present to us.

For me, as a communicator, pastor, coach I have learned to move from being firmly on the Introvert side to becoming more and more comfortable living as an Extrovert.

Now I actually am energized when speaking. I’m not sure what happens neurologically, but I am “jazzed” when speaking. Afterwards I am tired in a good way and I need to rest. Keep in mind - I am the guy who broke the record for speaking the most number of times per weekend in a sustained way over a long period of time - seven services per weekend for nearly a decade. I know - I need therapy!
