What is an ‘iinspired idea?’ Simply a thought that has, hopefully, come to us from God in response to our prayers for him to inspire us when we are in need of "intervention."
The older I grow the more I become aware of the bedrock truth of scripture "unless the Lord builds the house we labor in vain who build…" We could well insert the word "try" - as in "try to build" for that is all that will ever be accomplished in our lifetimes - a human effort at attempting to serve God - as well-intentioned as that may be.
I wish for you as a leader that you arrive at the point of deciding you are going to do just what God is putting his hand upon and nothing else.
We need these inspired ideas to function fluently in life and ministry. For those who see themselves as being committed to scripture and not open to anything of the Spirit that is, in their minds "beyond" scripture - read further. The scriptures themselves affirm in a multitude of places that God speaks to his people through our hearts and through the pages of scripture. The subjective arena of inspired ideas will never violate the objective boundaries of the canon of the 66 books of inspired scripture. Please don’t be arrogant and pooh-pooh those who walk in the Spirit by living the life that Jesus, the Apostles and the Early Church modeled as normal - a life of hearing God in the horizontal as well as the vertical.
