Today as you prepare for your weekend message, prepare with your heart, your mind and your passion for both God and his people.
Don’t back away from challenging people. Just challenge them realistically and challenge them in love.
Realize this important truth - people are begging to be challenged. Those who aren’t hungry to be challenged - for whatever reason they have "given up the ghost" along their journey - they are likely to not change, regardless. I could write much about such people. These are the old wineskins Jesus spoke of. If you focus your attention as a leader upon such people in your congregation you will be pulled down to the depths of the ocean as Captain Ahab with Moby Dick. When harpooning a whale of that size you don’t take it - it takes you!
Strategically think through those who are going your way… love them. Hang with them. Challenge them. Develop them.
Still love the others, but realize they are not going to get you where you are destined to arrive as a change-making leader!
